When I founded Muppet Meals, I did it out of deep frustration with the traditional dog food industry. I saw vague animal by-products, a sky-high CO2 footprint and, perhaps the biggest shock of all, the fact that behind the scenes, many well-known (allergy) brands are still carrying out horrific animal testing on dogs (mostly beagles).
I decided: this has to change. We're not after a quick buck by simply selling whatever's popular. We apply strict selection criteria before we sell a brand in our webshop. The result? A whopping 90% of commercial brands don't make our selection.
Why are we so ridiculously strict? Because we stick to the three hard rules of our Manifesto.

For decades, the traditional dog world has been shouting that a dog must eat meat. "Because that's how we've always done it." But modern science has long shown that a dog is an omnivorous carnivore. In fact, many dogs digest heavy animal proteins and meat industry by-products very poorly.
Muppet Meals only chooses 100% plant-based brands. Pure plant power. That way we don't just cut the CO2 emissions of the bowl straight away, we also give your dog clean, easily digestible energy. Because why should another animal suffer for your dog's dinner?
No suffering, just love (itch-free & free from animal testing )
Is your dog constantly itchy, or does it have red patches or tummy troubles? In 9 out of 10 cases, an animal protein (like beef or chicken) is the culprit behind the allergy. Plant-based food is the ultimate natural way to banish allergens and vague fillers from the bowl and bring calm back to the body.
But we go further than 'just hypoallergenic'. We require our suppliers to operate without animal testing. It's the height of irony: testing on laboratory beagles to make 'safe' food. No brand that contributes to this hidden suffering gets in with us.

"Healthy and plant-based must taste like cardboard." It's the biggest myth out there. We're happy to prove otherwise. If the Muppet Panel doesn't find a product ridiculously tasty, it doesn't make it onto our platform. Our selected dog food and treats are a party in the bowl, every single day.
And there's a reason for that. A balanced, purely plant-based diet is scientifically proven to support a more vital life. It can mean an average of 1.5 extra years of quality of life. That's 1.5 years of extra walks, extra cuddles and extra tail wags. That's what we do it for.
